Holland America's new Eurodam will expand its dining choices to include restaurants featuring Asia and Italian cuisine, as well as a French-themed terrace grill. The new restaurants are in addition to the main dining room, the casual Lido and the Pacific Northwest-themed Pinnacle Grill. New to Eurodam, which is set for launch in July, are Tamarind, the Asian restaurant; Canaletto, the Italian restaurant and Slice, an all-day pizza outlet. Each venue will feature menus that reflect its regional theme.
Tamarind will be a reservations-only restaurant with capacity for 144 diners. The Silk Den, a new lounge adjacent to Tamarind, will overlook the magradome, offering a view of a new, colorful poolside water feature. Master Chef Rudi Sodamin has created a variety of Asian-inspired entrees for Tamarind, including sea bass with a hoisin-lime glaze, baked snapper in rice paper, wasabi soy-crusted beef tenderloin steak, steamed lobster, roasted Peking duck; and red curry coconut chicken. Vegetarian dishes include sesame udon noodles, grilled seitan and vegetable Penang, and Vietnamese cabbage rolls. Canaletto opens for dinner in a section of the Lido restaurant. Although reservations will be encouraged for this casual dining venue, walk-ups will be accepted. Canaletto will have a capacity of 72. Slice, the new pizzeria just aft of the pool, will serve pizza during the day.
Eurodam's Rembrandt dining room will feature a wave effect in the ceiling that can be lit with different colors.As You Wish dining on Eurodam allows guests to choose either traditional pre-set seating and dining times or a completely flexible dining schedule. Guests with flexible seating may make reservations daily during a cruise up to 4 p.m. or walk up during dining hours. Holland America's reservations-only Pinnacle Grill features Pacific Northwest specialties including Sterling Silver beef and seafood items, as well as wines from renowned Pacific Northwest vineyards. Open for dinner by reservation, guests pay $30 per person for dinner and $15 for lunch. Also, at dinner time, the Lido features waiter service for guests who desire a more casual dining experience. Guests have the option to select dishes from the main dining room menu or regular Lido offerings. Complimentary room service is available around the clock, including ordering dinner dishes from the main dining room menu during dining hours.
Following its maiden voyage to the Baltic and inaugural Europe season, the ship will sail its first transatlantic cruise, followed by a series of Canada/New England sailings in the fall before operating Caribbean itineraries for the remainder of 2008.
