ItinerariesBeginning in 2006, the Disney Magic will embark on a new itinerary making two stops at private island Castaway Cay and also calling at Costa Maya and Cozumel to round out this new seven-night Caribbean itinerary. This alternate western Caribbean itinerary will sail every fourth week starting May 27 through Dec. 9, 2006, providing guests with an extra day of enjoyment at the island Disney Cruise Line guests call their very own -- Castaway Cay. Like-wise, sister ship Disney Wonder will also embark on new itineraries for 2006 extending her current three- and four-night Bahamian stint to the Southern Caribbean with two special 10- and 11-night itineraries. The 10-night cruise will depart on Sept. 7, and the 11-night cruise departs on Sept. 17, 2006 with calls at St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, St. Kitts and Castaway Cay. Barbados and St. Kitts are new ports of call for Disney Cruise Line. Entertainment With a swish of a wand, several Bibbidi Bobbidi Boos and the turning of storybook pages, "Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story" -- immerses audiences in a new rendition of the happily ever after story of Cinderella and her Prince Charming as the new stage show aboard the Disney Magic. With six original compositions and two classic Disney songs, an accomplished cast, lavish costumes and set designs, and clever special effects, the show continues to receive standing ovations. "Twice Charmed" is one of three original Disney musicals performed nightly in the magnificent 977-seat Walt Disney Theatre where after the sun drops, the curtain is lifted and original Disney musicals and first-run films take the stage. Additionally, guests are discovering just how awe-inspiring fireworks on the high seas can be. As part of the Pirates IN the Caribbean dinner and deck party, Disney Cruise Line guests aboard both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are now privy to the only firework display aboard a cruise ship. The adventurously themed evening begins with a feast fit for a pirate in the dining room, and then transitions to an evening sail-away celebration duel featuring the ruthless Captain Hook and Captain Mickey. With bandanas for all guests, stunt performers repelling from atop the ship's funnel, special lighting effects and a stunning firework display, the party's sure to make everyone a pirate for the night. And lastly, Disney Magic guests can now catch a poolside movie on a brand-new, state-of-the-art jumbo LED screen on Deck 9. The 24-by-14-foot screen shows movies and enhances the outdoor entertainment providing spectacular views from the upper decks. Age-Specific Activities An all-new approach to age-specific activities and programs transports guests of every age to incredible new destinations without ever leaving Disney ships. For the kids, Ocean Quest is a brand-new hangout, making this the fourth location onboard just for youth activities. The nautical-themed new space provides the perfect place to play computer and video games, participate in arts and crafts or watch a movie on one of several plasma screens in the room. The space also features a kid-size replica of the ship's bridge, complete with LCD screen "windows" that give children a first-hand glimpse of the captain's view via live video feed from the actual bridge. Here kids can play a simulation game steering a ship in and out of ports around the world. Already the most extensive youth activity area at sea, nearly an entire deck of the ship is devoted to supervised programs for five age-specific groups of children and teens. The Oceaneer Club is home to Peter Pan's Neverland and the 3-7 year set, while the Oceaneer Lab is reserved for the 8-12 set, themed for the more inquisitive as a science lab with computers and experiment stations. Several new or enhanced activities include: * 3-4 years -- Sebastian's Musical Sea Search is a hunt for instruments; once they're found, everyone has a place in the band for a big concert. * 5-7 years -- The next great celebrity chef could be discovered at The Junior Chef Experience where children work together to bake tasty Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies. * 8-9 years -- Flash your best TV smile in Now a Word From Our Sponsor, which gives kids a chance to stand in front of a camera and produce a commercial. * 10-12 years -- Did you know that it's actually polite to burp after a meal in China? Learn about differences of other cultures during Culture Shock, an interactive quiz game. For the teens, The Stack (Disney Magic) and Aloft (Disney Wonder) are the perfect hangout areas, located high a-top decks 11 in the (faux) funnel. Identical in theming the two areas offer the perfect chill-out with comfy couches, Internet access, plasma-screen TVs, MP3 players, board games and serves as the meeting place for activities and programs throughout the cruise. Additionally, infants and toddlers (ages 12 weeks to three years) are cared for at Flounder's Reef Nursery, allowing parents the opportunity to explore adult areas on their own. From elegant dinners, to backstage tours, to the exclusive Quiet Cove pool, adults will find endless ways to relax and enjoy themselves aboard in areas set-aside just for them. The Vista Spa and Salon has expanded to include the addition of three specially designed indoor/outdoor treatment suites. Each suite features an indoor treatment room connected to a private outdoor verandah, complete with personal hot tub, open-air shower and a luxurious chaise lounge. The fitness center has also nearly double in size, providing more space for exercise equipment and private one-on-one consultations. Unique Dining Novel in its approach and inventive in its execution, the dining experience rotates guests through three different themed restaurants throughout the cruise. Accompanied by their familiar wait staff and tablemates, guests travel from the casual elegance of Lumiere's (Disney Magic) and Triton's (Disney Wonder) to the colorful, island-inspired Parrot Cay and Animator's Palate, where Disney animation springs to life throughout their meal. Adults may also opt to dine at Palo, an exquisite restaurant featuring sweeping views and northern Italian cuisine. Unique new dining experiences created specifically to parallel the onboard entertainment include two new menus: Pirates IN the Caribbean and The Golden Mickeys. Additionally, aboard the Disney Magic there's champagne brunch and afternoon high tea at Palo for adults, a Disney character breakfast and tea with Wendy for families, plus a casual evening dining alternative at Topsider Buffet. The Disney Wonder also has champagne brunch at Triton's and casual dining alternatives at Beach Blanket Buffet. Source: Disney Cruise Lines Trackback(0)
